HOW WE STARTED
The Romanian Golf Association (RGA) was established in 2015 by a group of 33 businesswomen and businessmen brought together by their passion for golf, with the purpose of improving the popularity and interest in the game of golf in Romania as well as promoting its economic, social and environmental benefits.
OUR ROLE
RGA functions as a collective voice for the golfing community in Romania and aims to become the main representation body of amateur golf players in Romania.
As the golf infrastructure in Romania is still at an incipient level, RGA plans to support all developments of proper 18 hole golf courses in Bucharest and throughout Romania.
OBJECTIVES
- Supporting the development of a proper 18 hole golf course in the vicinity of Bucharest, as the golf infrastructure in Romania is slowly taking off
- Promoting a series of competitive amateur golf tournaments and networking events in Romania and in the region, by accommodating all levels of amateur golfers
- Promoting uniform rules and standards, especially with regard to the handicap system, rules of golf and etiquette
- Providing the members with information regarding local and regional events and facilitate registration
- Providing a liaison between the members and foreign golf associations, encouraging the participation in tournaments organized abroad (i.e. EAGT, etc.)
- Serving as a source of information for our members
- Providing RGA members with an expanding list of benefits from our sponsors & partners.
